Visiting the dentist is nerve-wracking enough without having to worry infection from a contaminated dental water line. The infection prevention and control practice standard published by the Dental Council of New Zealand recommends dental clinics monitor the microbial levels in water from dental waterlines with regular testing.
Dipslides are simple, but lack the precision that professional laboratory testing service can provide. It can be hard to determine if dipslide results are actually above or below the acceptable number of bacteria (<200 CFU/ml).
We use the widely-accepted American Public Health Association Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater method 9215 (Heterotrophic Plate Count). This method is carried out by us in-laboratory under controlled conditions, giving you a greater precision, better reproducibility, and more confidence in your results.
We can also assist with chemical testing.
Available:
Microbial testing of dental waterlines, and other water types if required as recommended in the infection prevention and control practice standard
Conductivity and hardness testing of water from reprocessing areas as recommended in the infection prevention and control practice standard
Metals in wastewater (e.g. mercury, silver) to help ensure you are meeting Auckland's Trade Waste Bylaw
Multi-test packages for more cost-effective routine monitoring
